314,000 Opportunities. The Question is: Who is Prepared?

High School to the pro: opportunity is everywhere

For a long time, we’ve used data to tell a story about what’s wrong. Low access. Limited outcomes. Opportunity gaps. But what if we’ve been reading the numbers the wrong way?

At High School to the Pros, we see something different when we look at the data. We don’t see a crisis. We see direction.

Take the so-called “good jobs gap.”

Only a fraction of workers without a bachelor’s degree currently holds jobs that pay $40,000 or more with benefits. That statistic is often used to highlight inequality.

But look again. Behind that number are hundreds of thousands of open, available, and necessary roles, positions that already exist, waiting to be filled by people with the right preparation.

That is not a shortage of opportunity. It is a shortage of alignment.

The same is true for dual credit.

Students who take dual credit courses enroll in college at significantly higher rates than those who don’t. This is often framed as a disadvantage for those without access.

But we see it as something else entirely: A 24-point competitive edge that can be delivered earlier, faster, and more intentionally.

That is what High School to the Pros is built to do.

The competition is more than just winning. It’s about exposure, confidence, and the ability to communicate ideas effectively in front of an audience. Each pitch represents not just a business concept, but a student’s commitment to problem-solving and innovation.

As the competition unfolds, judges will evaluate presentations based on creativity, feasibility, and delivery, ultimately selecting standout ideas that demonstrate both potential and impact.

Now in its third year, High School to the Pros continues to build momentum, reinforcing its mission to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.

As students take the stage across the three schools, one thing is certain: this isn’t just another week, it’s a defining moment for young entrepreneurs stepping into rooms their ideas were always meant for.
